Should I Help This Business?

So I felt like telling you this story today..

Once in a while you find that one special client that really pulls at your heart and you really want to help out. Whether it be to truly “help” the client, or to maybe prove something to yourself.

See, I normally don’t take clients anymore where I feel I truly can’t help them or at the very least that I can’t make at least $500 a month from residual income from a client. It’s just not worth my time. More importantly, and you will soon find out the less you charge a client for your services the more of a pain they will be. The ones that pay more are more valuable to you.

Well, I had a client I met with today, and I am going to break every rule I HAVE!

I decided to HELP this client in pretty much every sense of the word. I charged them a quarter of what I charge for a website, I charged them my early day rates for e-mails. Rates I told myself I would never charge again, because my time is worth more than that today.

Okay, about the clients, they are 2 brothers who opened a pizza sub shop back in May. They used to be in the pool business and continued to get screwed by clients - they said they have 50G’s out on the street. They refinanced their houses to get the loans for their new business. By the way, neither has been in the restaurant pizza business.

They took a shop that a previous owner left and left all the equipment. They thought they made out because the previous owner left $40,000 worth of equipment. So in their minds they were ahead of the game.

Ha, what they didn’t realize is they are in the WORST POSSIBLE location ever.  No one knows they are there, they have no brand recognition, nothing and you guessed it no MONEY to ADVERTISE. UGH. Our rule is normally look for clients that are already spending for advertising. Well they did in three different print publication’s one did great the other sucked out whatever money they did have.

So now they need the POWERHOUSE marketing from GINA GRAY, LOL.
So these guys are in so deep they don’t know who to pay when they get
the little money they have. Do they pay their own personal bills so they
are not homeless or the business to keep the doors open?

Did I mention the one guy has 5 kids, and the brother has 2.
Yup, not a good spot.  So I decided to help them, and they
need everything. I was there yesterday from 2:30 to 3:45 they
did not have one customer. Not good.

Of course I did ask if the food was good. Sorry I had to. They said
yes but I haven’t judged yet.

So, if they decided not to choose to feed me even at the ridiculous low prices I gave them, then I guess I will have to eat my SHOE and put my money where my mouth is, or however the saying goes.

I decided to put it all out there. I decided to see if I am as good as I believe I am. I am going to use these two brothers as a case study.

I know most of the others teaching you offline business out there are pitching case studies on you guys learning this stuff, well I’m going to perform a case study on a business that couldn’t need my help more if they tried.

Change Yourself to Succeed with Working from Home.

In has been said that the secret behind success is change. When you think about it, it’s true. Obviously, you are not succeeding now, or you wouldn’t be reading this. You desire to change your financial status then you must make some changes in your life. If you do not change, then your financial life will remain as it is… unfulfilling.

If you are looking to become your own boss, run your own business, and work from home you’ll need to make some changes. You’ll have to make the decision to change your lifestyle, possibly your work ethic, schedule and determination level. You must escape your comfort zone to pursue your dream lifestyle.

You must adapt to change to succeed and get your goals met. The biggest obstacle you’ll face, in achieving those goals, is in fact change. Clear that hurdle and you’ll win the game. You may fear the change at first, but once you learn to embrace it and push yourself to change, your rewards will be well worth it. If you want to succeed at working from home you must accept that you will face some changes, that you may feel at first uncomfortable with.

It may feel painful to accept the change you must make, but in reality it’s not. It’s embracing new encounters, new actions, and more money into your life by being proactive in the change. These changes you’re going to make are good changes. Changes that will help your financial situation, your family and in the end give you the freedom you desire, to do what you want.

If you associate good feelings with the outcome of your changes, then it will make the task so much easier. Say, for example, you are petrified of contacting a business owner to offer web design services, but you know you must pay the car payment this week. The result of contacting the business owner may result in 6 car payments that client helped you make.

By not making the decision to call on the business owner, your car may get repossessed. So, you can decide to not make the call and be afraid and potentially lose the car, or you call up 10 businesses and offer Internet marketing services, and make a connection and pay the car payment (and then some).

You have the desire to work from home, now you just need to make the changes to make it happen, and become a success.
